About the client

The AMM (Wholesale Market Administrator) in Guatemala is a nonprofit that manages the national electricity market, ensuring efficient energy distribution and system operation.

The challenge

We developed a project for the AMM (Wholesale Market Administrator) in Guatemala, where the main challenge was to create a platform that connects the management processes of their clients and internal team. The platform functions as a BPM (Business Process Management) system to track task assignments and streamline workflows efficiently.

Goals

  • To develop an integrated BPM platform for the AMM (Wholesale Market Administrator) in Guatemala that connects client and internal team management processes, enabling efficient task tracking and streamlined workflows to improve overall operational productivity.

Solution

AMM processes

This is a project by the AMM. Acting in one of the countries with the highest industrial growth in the region, the Wholesale Market Manager (AMM) sought to streamline interaction and processes with energy distribution agents in Guatemala.

Boosting processes

  • Considering its role as an intermediary for the sale of electricity in the country, AMM needed to improve the attention to energy consuming agents in Guatemala
  • AMM’s vision was to create a self-managed tool, seeking the configuration and monitoring of tasks with minimal intervention from the IT department
  • In this line, AMM was looking for new suppliers that could provide innovation and digital transformation, but providing integration with the existing technological base
  • It was determined that the project would require a strong component of development research where modern technologies interact with previously implemented IT infrastructure, including SSO servers, well estabilished databases and email transmission servers.

Flexibility with stability

  • After a year of execution and validation of its need, the result was a modern Web application, preserving the solid foundations of AMM infrastructure
  • By using the new web application, AMM agents had a better interaction experience for task execution and tracking. Rejuvenating the relationship between AMM and its business partners in energy distribution
  • The vision was implemented through the stability of Java 8, Java EE 7, Oracle RDBMS and Weblogic, while at the same time modern technologies such as Angular and TypeScript were selected for the user experience
  • AMM owns a tool that respects intellectual property agreements where a transfer of knowledge was carried out
